The Great Secret

A Poem

In the grand wee hours of our amazing minds lies a secret for us to find.

Can you hear it among the hustle? Have you reduced it to a meek rustle?

What is this truth buried in your mind?

It is just sitting there among the rubble of what used to be, begging, “please, won’t you come find me?”

But, you stay busy fleeting about, threatening to burst, needing to shout.

Ignoring your secret, ignoring your self.

Striving to be ‘better’, chasing your clout.

In a world of schedules and never letting go, the only thing you truly need, you may never know.

It is this that I implore, ‘won’t you sit still and know yourself more?’
